Inheriting a love of hunting from a long time South African family, Louis began his hunting career at the age of four years. Along with his father and brothers, he developed a love of the African bush and the wild game found there. After training and apprenticeship, he obtained his Official Professional Hunters License in 1994 and began guiding full time. During that time he also registered to guide the Dangerous Six with a Bow and Arrow.

"Rarely, do you meet someone so conscientious and proficient at his craft, so passionate about his homeland, so personable and perceptive, that being with him becomes almost a spiritual experience. Some of my most successful, memorable, and affecting days at safari have been in the company of Louis Venter, and any opportunity to hunt with him is a privilege. Louis Venter has my greatest respect and regard, as he will yours."

From 1996 to 2000 Louis lectured at the Game Hunters Professional Hunting School in Ellisras, Limpopo Province, South Africa, where he was responsible for all aspects of the full course. During this period he trained over two hundred PH's (Professional Hunters).

Louis' goal is to share with hunters his experience, skill and respect for the African bush. When hunting with Louis Venter Safaris, client enjoyment completely merged with client safety is his number one priority.
